Police saw a vehicle traveling north in the area of North Broadway Avenue and East Myrtle Avenue violating a light law and pulled the vehicle over. According to a news release, police were given consent to search the vehicle after detecting a strong marijuana odor.
While searching the vehicle, police reportedly found in a backpack belonging to the boy containing 6.79 grams of marijuana, 14 100-milligram Adderall pills, plastic baggies, a grinder and a glass pipe containing marijuana.
The teen has been charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II and schedule VI narcotics with intent to distribute.
He was given a citation and released to his parents pending a Johnson City Juvenile Court appearance Friday morning.
