A Johnson City man was arrested Friday on charges of auto burglary and theft under $500 for allegedly breaking into a car at Cookout, 1206 W. State of Franklin Rd. in June.

Prince Dean Anderson, 19, 310 Greenway Dr., #1, Johnson City, was arraigned on the charges Monday in Washington County General Sessions Court. The auto burglary happened June 22 when the victim was working at the restaurant.

She told police a purse, her cell phone, state identification and her children’s social security cards were taken. Some of the woman’s property was recovered after a friend found her purse.

According to an arrest warrant, Anderson borrowed a friends car and drove to Cookout, then a few days later that friend found two social security cards in her vehicle. Another witness told police he saw Anderson attempt to use the victim’s cell phone the same night it was stolen.
