ELIZABETHTON — Brady Nathaniel Hill, 22, 137 Paul Blevins Road, has a record of convictions for minor crimes that goes back to 2011 and his convictions have been mostly for non-violent and less serious offenses, such as marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, trespassing and public intoxication.

But what Hill does have is a large number of such convictions over the past two years and charges that he has failed to follow his probation.

On Monday, Hill felt the weight of all those misdemeanors when Sessions Court Judge John Walton ordered him to serve a total of 466 days in the Carter County Detention Center after the judge found him guilty of four counts of violation of probation.

The lengthy term was a result of Walton ordering Hill to serve consecutive sentences on the four counts.

Hill’s latest appearance before Walton came after his arrest on the afternoon of Aug. 1 following a disturbance at Lynnridge Apartments on Bluefield Avenue. When Officer Jonathan King of the Elizabethton Police Department arrived, he met with the property manager who said a man was arguing with residents and was possibly on the no-trespassing list.

King approached the young man, who told him his name was Brandon Nathaniel Cole. While King was conducting a records check under that name, he said the man told another police officer that his name was Brandon Whitehead. At that point, King asked to conduct a search. He found a Social Security card identifying him as Hill. He also found a pipe in Hill’s pocket with drug residue on it.

Hill was arrested on charges of criminal impersonation, criminal trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

Walton dismissed the drug paraphernalia charge, but found him guilty on the other charges as well as the probation violations. He was not given more jail time on his new charges, but was fined a total of $100 and court costs.
