Harmony community church burglary solved with surveillance footage

A church burglary in the Harmony community of Washington County was solved with the aid of surveillance cameras.

According to Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Kevin Scott Estep, 43, was charged with burglary and theft from Harmony Baptist Church.

According to Graybeal, Members of the church reported someone had entered the church offices and removed a safe and its contents.

An investigation revealed the subject had used a credit card taken in the burglary at a local business. Estep was identified from the video recovered from surveillance cameras at the business and later admitted to the crimes.

He was being held in the Washington County Detention Center under $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Thursday.
