According to the release, Daniel Rhea Bledsoe, 37, 108 Saratoga Place, Elizabethton, was charged after he allegedly took a credit card from a residence and used the card several times in Johnson City.
According to a Sessions Court affidavit, Kathy Campbell filed the report of the missing card on behalf of Elizabethton resident Burnette Hathoway.
Bledsoe allegedly used Hathoway’s card on June 23 at Walmart, 3111 Browns Mill Road, and at Target, 2116 N. Roan St. At Walmart he charged $101.59 and at Target, he charged $77.55.
According to the affidavit, Bledsoe returned to the same Walmart twice, charging $101.70 on the first trip to the store and $227.93 on the second trip.
Bledsoe also allegedly used the card at First Tennessee Bank, 2112 N. Roan St., in the amount of $203.
According to the affidavit, Bledsoe made two more attempts at the same First Tennessee Bank in the amounts of $103 and $203.
The total amount taken from Hathoway was $711.77.
According to the release, Bledsoe was charged with eight counts of identity theft and six counts of theft of property under $500. He was taken to Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on $86,000 bond.
Bledsoe waived his charges to criminal court.
