A Jonesborough man led police on a brief high-speed chase in Johnson City on Monday, resulting in his arrest, police said in a news release.
Joshua Howell, 21, 254 Miller Road, Jonesborough, was driving on South Greenwood Drive about 10:30 a.m. when police tried to stop his Jeep Cherokee for speeding near Colony Park Drive.
Howell stopped briefly, then took off at high speed as police approached his Jeep. Police caught him a short time later.
He was charged with felony evading arrest, driving on a suspended license and speeding.
Howell was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday.
