Kingsport police say Facebook post advertising stolen goods led to arrest

KINGSPORT — The pitfalls of sharing too much information via social media have worked in favor of Kingsport police, who located a felony theft suspect after he allegedly advertised stolen merchandise for sale on his Facebook page. Brandon J. Anderson, 28, of 419 Morning Star Road, Church Hill, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for felony shoplifting. A report at the Kingsport Police Department says authorities were alerted to his alleged theft on June 26.A loss prevention officer at Walmart, 2500 West Stone Drive, reported $545 in camping equipment had been stolen the week prior. It included multiple tents, an air mattress, tackle box and fishing line.
