Carter Co. man accused of operating indoor marijuana growing system; cash and gun seized

ELIZABETHTON — A Carter County man was arrested recently on charges he had an indoor marijuana growing operation.

Steven Andrew Sochalski, 33, 345 H. Heaton Road, was arrested by agents of the 1st Judicial District Drug Task Force on charges of manufacturing Schedule VI drug, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are manufactured, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Agents said 13 marijuana plants in different stages of growth were found in a basement hydroponic operation. Agents also said a computer with marijuana growth charts were seized from the home, and $831 in cash and an M1911A1 pistol were found in Sochalski's truck.

Sochalski is scheduled to answer the charges in Sessions Court on Aug. 13.
