Johnson City police arrested a woman accused of throwing a glass at her finance and causing a deep laceration.
Joesphine C. Carter, 44, 1507 Cherokee Rd., Apt. 2, is charged with aggravated domestic assault after the Saturday evening incident at the couple’s residence.
Officer Robert Gibson responded to the couple’s apartment at 10 30 p.m. Satuday and found Buddy Peters outside and bleeding heavily from his neck. Peters told police and medical personnel that Carter threw a glass at him and that’s how he was injured.
Carter told police Peters came home drunk and accused her of cheating on him. She said she went outside to speak to a neighbor’s child and Peters followed and accused her of talking about him.
She said Peters went back inside and she followed, then noticed he was bleeding. She said he received the cut after he swung his arms and knocked a glass off a table. The glass fell to the floor, broke and a piece bounced off the floor and hit Peters in the neck, the woman told police.
During the investigation, however, police determined Carter was the primary aggressor and placed her under arrest.
Carter was held on a $50,000 bond. She was scheduled to be arraigned on the charge in Washington County General Sessions Court Monday.
