Virginia man arrested on charges from out-of-state following report of suspicious activity in Johnson City

A Saltville, Va. man was arrested Sunday following an investigation into a suspicious person on West Market Street, which led to the discovery of charges from another state.
According to a police news release, officers made contact with the suspicious person, William A. Sanders, 60, at 1720 W. Market St., and discovered he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Marion County Sheriff’s Department in Ocala, Fla.
The warrant was for violation of probation on an earlier charge of burglary and Sanders was arrested for being a fugitive from justice for a crime in another state.
According to the release, he was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held without bond.
Sanders is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Tuesday at 9 a.m.
