WEBER CITY, Va. — A Kingsport teen was arrested in Scott County, Va., late Monday night after allegedly leading police from multiple agencies on a nearly 30-mile pursuit — striking another motorist's car and throwing items from his vehicle as he fled.

Austin M. Stallard, 18, is charged by the Scott County Sheriff's Office with felony eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and driving without a license. He was apprehended by Scott County deputies around midnight near the Tennessee-Virginia state line.

Various law enforcement agencies say the pursuit began at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Highway 11-W in Hawkins County, when Stallard allegedly refused to stop for deputies. The circumstances of what prompted that attempted stop were not immediately available Tuesday afternoon from the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office.
