Police pull over Gray man allegedly carrying 23 grams of crack cocaine

Police arrested a Gray man on numerous drug charges Tuesday afternoon following a traffic stop.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, the Drug Interdiction Unit pulled over a gold Chrysler minivan being driven by David Mantey, 40, 158 Oak Grove Road, Apt. 2, near the intersection of Spring and West Pine streets about 1:30 p.m.

Upon investigation, officers found about 23 grams of crack cocaine, along with a small amount of marijuana in Mantey’s possession, the release said.

Mantey was charged with manufacture, delivery and sale of a schedule II drug, introduction into a penal facility, simple possession of a schedule VI drug and second offense of driving on a revoked license.

He was brought to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on $17,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. today in Sessions Court.
