ROAN MOUNTAIN — A Buck Mountain woman was getting into her car on 3:25 p.m. Tuesday when she noticed smoke and flames coming from the dashboard.

Moye said she got out of the vehicle and called 911. Deputy Paul Morell reported the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 3:47 p.m.

Moye told Morell the vehicle was not running at the time of the fire and had been sitting in the driveway for about an hour.
