A West Virginia man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Johnson County Wednesday night.

According to a news release from Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece, James Dallas Howell IV, Greenebrier, W. Va., was driving on Tenn. State Route 133 toward Winchester Road just after 9 p.m. Wednesday when he veered off the left side of the road near the entrance to Blevins Cemetery.

He overcorrected, which put the vehicle into a skid until it hit a bank and flipped one time.

Howell was partially ejected from the car and was pinned.

Reece said in the release Howell died of a severe head injury.
