Rick and Shelly Heyman, Liberty Center, Ohio, announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal Lee, to Dr. Brian Joseph Pugh, son of Joseph and Deborah Pugh, Johnson City.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed by Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio, as a registered nurse.
She is a granddaughter of Larry and Vicky Heyman, Hamilton, Ind.; John Winters, Temperance, Mich., and late Marilyn Winters; Judy McCormick, Melbourne Fla., and the late Richard McCormick; and Peggy Schwan, Liberty Center, Ohio, and the late Michael Schwan.
Her fiancé is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree; and a graduate of Virginia College os Osteopathic Medicine, where he received a medical degree.
He is completing a residency in surgery at Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo.
He is a grandson of Madge Street, Johnson City, and the late Tulsa Street; and the late Walter and Mary Pugh.
The couple plan a private wedding for October 2012, at First Congregational Church, Toledo.
Mr. and Mrs. Bragg
Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt R. Bragg, 2107 Evergreen Drive, Johnson City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Rotary Park in Johnson City.
The couple were married on July 19, 1952.
Mr. Bragg retired from the U.S. Postal Service and East Tennessee State University post office.
Mrs. Bragg is the former Lou E. Lilley. She retired from Heilig-Meyers Furniture Co.
The couple have five children, Larry Bragg of Johnson City, Jon Bragg and wife Paula of Nashville, Judith Taylor and husband Kenny of Jonesborough, Robin Hoss and husband Tom of LaVergne, Dan Bragg and wife Young Shil of Johnson City; and seven grandchildren, Russell Leonard and wife Kim of Nashville, Natasha Bragg of Nashville, Jeremiah Taylor and wife Ashleigh of Gray, Sommer Worley and husband Trey of Jonesborough, Matti Hoss of La Vergne, Elijah Bragg of Johnson City, Brianna Bragg of Johnson City; and seven great-grandchildren.
Megan Leigh McCune and Wilton Hart McNeely were married Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Lovely Lane Chapel at Epworth by the Sea, St. Simon’s Island, Ga.
The Rev. Wright Culpepper officiated the 5 p.m. exchange of vows. Music was provided by Jan Lane Harper, organist.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. McCune Jr., Mount Pleasant, S.C.
She is a granddaughter of Gloria McCune, Memphis, and the late Donald McCune Sr.; and Anna B. Staley, Mount Pleasant, S.C., and the late William D. Staley.
The groom is a son of Dr. and Mrs. David E. McNeely Jr., Elizabethton.
He is a grandson of Dolores B. Hart, Elizabethton; the late Richard L. Hart; David E. McNelly Sr., Elizabethton; and the late Marie B. McNeely.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Paloma Blanca A-line gown of white silk taffeta featuring a sweetheart neckline, a ruched waist accented with taffeta rosettes, embroidered Alcenon lace accenting the bodice and a scalloped lace hemline that extended into a sweep train.
Matron of honor was Kelly McCune Carroll, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Suzy Agin and Rachel Cheek.
Dr. David E. McNeely III, brother of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Charles E. Pierce III and Weston Peters.
Ushers were J. David Jeans and Jonathan E. Nelson.
A reception was held at the Heritage Center at the historic St. Simon’s Island Lighthouse.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ferguson, Gray, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 29, 2012, at a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at King Springs Baptist Church, Johnson City.
The couple were married on Aug. 1, 1962, in Jonesborough by the Rev. Billy Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson retired from TPI in Gray.
Mrs. Ferguson is the former Betty Maupin. She is retired from Belk and Target.
The couple have two children, Bobby of Jonesborough and Johnny of Gray; and five grandchildren, Jessica Russell, Justin Ferguson, Nicholas Ferguson, Matthew Shorter and Elijah Ferguson; and five great-grandchildren, Madison Russell, Kailee Russell, Anna Ferguson, Kynlee Ferguson and Dylan Shorter.
The celebration is open to family and friends.
