Casey Leon and Patricia Mae Jones celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at a dinner and dessert event hosted by their children.
The couple were married on Dec. 23, 1961, in Johnson City.
Mr. Jones retired from Ryder System Inc.
Mrs. Jones is the former Patricia Saults. She retired from Levi Strauss.
The couple have three children, Cathy Griffith and husband Ed, Harold Jones and William Jones.
Christina Dawn Butler and James Robert Hale were married Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Rose Hill Wedding Chapel.
Pastor Jerry Musick officiated the 5 p.m. exchange of vows.
The bride is a daughter of Bill and Carole Butler, Gray.
She is a granddaughter of the late John and Delia Butler; and the late Clarence and Rose Tribble.
The groom is a son of Karen Hale, Jonesborough; and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hale, Johnson City.
He is a grandson of June B. Hubs, Knoxville; the late James A. Hubs; Lola B. Hale, Johnson City; and the late Charles R. Hale.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless Maggie Sottero gown of satin featuring a ruched waist, corset back and a pick-up skirt with crystal beading and lace inset that extended into a cathedral-length train.
Matron of honor was Jamie Swift.
Bridesmaids were Lorrie Hale and Sara Tribble.
Flower girl was Emily Swift.
Ring bearer was Ethan Swift.
Darrell Hale, father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsman was Chuck Hale.
Ushers were Brad Pollock and Jordan Tribble.
Following a reception at the Holiday Inn, the couple took a wedding trip to Saint James Resort, Jamaica.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Joe Allen, Melbourne, Fla., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Embreeville United Methodist Church, Highway 81 South, Jonesborough.
The couple were married on Dec. 23, 1961, at Embreeville Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack P. Weikel.
Mr. Allen is an adjunct professor for the World Wide Campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mrs. Allen is the former Millie Ann Robinette. She is a retired educator.
The couple have one child, the late Christopher K. Allen; and one grandchild, Jessica Allen, Melbourne, Fla.
The celebration is open to family and friends.
In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to EUMC youth group.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown
William A. “Bill” and Carolyn Brown, Bly, Ore., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a luncheon hosted by their sons and daughter-in-law in Klamath Falls, Ore.
The couple were married on Oct. 28, 1961, in Lakeview, Ore.
Mr. Brown is a retired construction worker and owned Bill Brown Construction.
Mrs. Brown is the former Carolyn Riddle. She is a retired bookkeeper, weigh master for the State of Oregon and Weyer-haeuser, and message center clerk for IBM and the school system.
The couple have two children, Allan Brown of Kalmath Falls, Ore., and Brent Brown and wife Keenie of Bly, Ore.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown are formerly from Jonesborough.
Mr. and Mrs. Rockoff
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rockoff celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.
The couple were married on Dec. 22, 1942, in Rochester, New York, while he was on leave from the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Rockoff retired from the garment industry, having worked and managed factories for Catalina, Lillian, Miss Pat and Fritzi of Utah.
Mrs. Rockoff is the former Annette Goldstein.
The couple have one child, Celeste Mushet and husband Bob of Jonesborough; five grandchildren, Elliot Taub and wife Deanna of Couredelain, Idaho, Gavin Martinson and wife Alyssa of Coppell, Texas, Dillon Martinson and wife Amy of Vienna, Va., Vanessa Taub-Flores of Concord, Calif., and the late Amberley Hodge; and eight grandchildren.
