Announcement is made of the engagement of Tammy Grindstaff Carter and James Oxendine.
The bride-elect is a daughter of the late Crawford and Elsie Grindstaff.
She is a graduate of Elizabethton High School and Milligan College. She is employed at Q.E.P Harris Flooring Co., Johnson City, as a customer service manager.
Her fiancé is a son of Jim and Velma Oxendine, Johnson City.
He is a graduate of University High School and East Tennessee State University Nave Paramedical Center, where he received a degree in dental technology. He is a self-employed stock trader.
The couple plan a private wedding for Nov. 1, 2013, in the Hidden Mountain Wedding Gazebo at the family villa in Pigeon Forge.
