Joe and Eula Currington, Watauga, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013.
The couple were married on Aug. 3, 1963, by the Rev. Woodrow Morrell at his home in Sullivan County.
Mr. Currington retired from Heartland Trucking. He was employed as a carpet installer for 17 years and worked at St. John Mill. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for many years.
Mrs. Currington is the former Eula Scalf. She is retired from Levi Strauss after working in both the Elizabethton and Johnson City plants. She is a homemaker.
The couple have four children, Scotty Currington of Erwin, Shelly Webb of Abington, Va., Joy Jones of Cookeville, and Debbie Loyd of Johnson City; and three grandchildren, Bobby Webb, and Sierra and Seth Jones.
