David E. and Tonya McKinney, 229 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Alison Joyce, to Matthew Lynn Peters, son of Jeff and Kitty Peters, 882 Orchard Road, Shady Valley.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Happy Valley High School, and is a 2013 graduate of Milligan College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed by Mountain States Health Alliance.
She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony McKeehan, Johnson City; and Mrs. Katalin McKinney, Elizabethton, and the late Mr. Ethan McKinney. She is a great-granddaughter of Mrs. Aleta Hendrix, Johnson City, and the late Mr. Leon Hendrix.
Her fiancé is a 2004 graduate of Johnson County High School. He is employed by T&B Construction, Bristol.
He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Gentry, Shady Valley; Mr. Jerry Peters, Elizabethton; and the late Mrs. Wilma Hoffman.
The couple plan a private wedding for 6 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the bride’s family’s farm, Johnson City.
