Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kenneth Gross, Johnson City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mollie Elaine, to Andrew Cooper Warren, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Andrew Warren, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of University School and was presented by the Mountain Empire Chapter of the National League of Debutante Cotillions in 2004 and by the board of the East Tennessee Presentation Society Dogwood Ball in 2006.
She is a 2008 honors graduate of Wellesley College, where she was the recipient of the Paul R. Barstow Award. She served as president of the Phi Sigma Society of Wellesley and was a member of the Wellesley College Dancers.
She is a third-year student at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis.
She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor Hendrix, Johnson City; Kenneth Ernst Gross, Melbourne, Fla.; and the late Mrs. Kenneth Ernst Gross.
Her fiancé is a 1999 graduate of Rift Valley Academy, Kijabe, Kenya; and a 2003 graduate of Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Ga. He served in the Peace Corps in Morocco.
He is a fourth-year student at James H. Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University.
He is a grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. John Arch Warren, Nashville; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claud W. Cooper.
The couple plan a private wedding for Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Johnson City.
