Dr. and Mrs. John Lowell Holbrook, 3 Llewellyn Wood, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Elizabeth Holbrook, to Stephen Edward Turk, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Gordon Turk, 111 Field Springs Court, Macon, Ga.
The bride-elect is a 2004 honors graduate of Science Hill High School and was presented by the Mountain Empire Chapter of the National League of Debutante Cotillions in 2004. She is a 2008 summa cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in communication and was an active member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority; and a 2010 graduate of East Tennessee State University, where she received a master’s degree in teaching. She is employed by the Aiken County School District, South Carolina.
She is a granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Francis Scott, Huntington, W.Va.; the late Madge Lewis Scott; and the late Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Holbrook.
Her fiancé is a 2004 high honors graduate of Stratford Academy, Macon, Ga.; a 2008 graduate of Wake Forest University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology and was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity; and is a student at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, where he will complete a doctor of medicine degree in May.
He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Leroy Taylor; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dilmas Edward Turk.
The couple plan a private wedding for 6 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church.
