Greg and Karen Goulds, Johnson City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kortney Marie, to Darren Lewis Caldwell, son of Rick and Merri Caldwell, Roebuck, S.C.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Happy Valley High School; a 2008 graduate of Milligan College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education; and a 2010 graduate of Milligan College, where she received a master’s degree in education.
She is employed by Bristol Tennessee City Schools as an eighth-grade social studies teacher at Vance Middle School.
She is a granddaughter of Charlie and Jane Bayless, Johnson City; Martha Banner, Johnson City; and Melvin and Carol Goulds, Lake Wales, Fla.
Her fiancé is a 2005 graduate of Dorman High School; and a 2009 graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance and investment.
He is employed by Express Courier.
He is a grandson of Ralph Caldwell, Spartanburg, S.C.; and the late Hazel Caldwell; and James and Juanita Lewis, Spartanburg, S.C.;
The couple plan a private wedding for 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges, Jonesborough.
