CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Donna Furlong and Jack B. Stallings Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Smith, to Travis Austin Nevels, son of Travis S. and Debra Sells Nevels, Charlotte.
The bride-elect is a graduate of East Carolina University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English; and UNC-Charlotte, where she received a paralegal certification.
She is employed by Colonial Properties Trust as a property manager.
She is a granddaughter of Jack. B. Stallings of Rock Hill, S.C.; the late Minnie Tolbert Stallings; John Carter Furlong of Charlotte; and Joyce Smith Moore of Charlotte.
Her fiancé is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English, and he received a paralegal certification from Duke University.
He is employed by Womble Carlyle law offices as a project manager.
He is a grandson of Travis L. and Patricia Z. Nevels of Johnson City, Tenn.; the late James H. Sells; and the late Imogene King Sells.
The couple plan a private wedding for 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at St. Mary’s Chapel, Charlotte.
