Johnson City police arrested a teenager late Monday on a charge that he stabbed his father.
In a news release, police said officers went to a north Johnson City residence about 11:15 p.m. and learned that the 17-year-old boy, whose name was not released because of his age, stabbed his father once with a kitchen knife during an altercation.
Police did not specify the address of the incident or include the father's name and condition in the release.
The teen was charged with aggravated assault/domestic violence. He was jailed in the Upper East Tennessee Regional Juvenile Detention Center pending an appearance in Johnson City Juvenile Court.
