Johnson City police find air pistol after armed robbery

Johnson City police were looking for a man who stashed his disguise and gun behind the store he held up over the weekend.
It happened at Bays Mart 27, 801 S. Roan St., around 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
The store clerk told police a white man entered the store wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt. He had the hood on and a black and white bandana covering his face.
According to the police report, the man pointed a large handgun at the clerk and ordered her to “give me the money,” which she did.
After getting money from the store, the robber fled on foot.
Police who responded to the scene located the bandana behind the store. The sweatshirt and gun were located behind the store in the alley between Walnut and Maple streets, according to the report.
Johnson City Police Lt. Steve Sherfey said the weapon used was an air pistol.
Police were looking for a white man about 5’10” tall and about 200 pounds.
Anyone with information about the robbery can call the police department at 434-6166.
