‘Stooge-tistics’: Professors at ETSU use Stooges’ art to teach math

“Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk” might be the new E=mc².
The Three Stooges’ popular brand of slapstick comedy has informed the work of two enterprising mathematics and statistics professors at East Tennessee State University. Since 2008, Bob “Moe-Bob” Gardner and Bob “Puddin’ Head” Davidson have developed a number of presentations and class lessons built on the slaps, eye-pokes and belly-smashes inflicted by and on Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard — the comedy troupe known as The Three Stooges.
