ELIZABETHTON — The Carter County Sheriff’s Department is investigating to recent burglaries in Stoney Creek in which jewelry was stolen.
Deputy Issac Rhea spoke with Sherry Campbell about a burglary at her Estep Hollow residence while she was in the hospital earlier this month. She said the thief stole a quarter-carat diamond engagement ring and gold wedding band set, valued at $400; a quarter-carat marquise diamond ring, valued at $350; a blue topaz ring, valued at $300; valued at $200; and a quarter-carat diamond cluster ring.
Rhea also met with Carol Renee Rash who said a burglar had broken through the back door of her Danner Road residence. She said the thief stole a 1-carat diamond and ruby ring, valued at $500; a 1-carat diamond and emerald ring, valued at $500; two gold antique wedding rings, valued at $400; and jug of coins, valued at $50.
