Alleged coffee maker fight brings arrest

A Fall Branch man was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault after an argument over a coffee maker early Tuesday morning, police said.
According to a police release, Zdravko Simikic, 30, 695 Oak Glen Circle, was involved in an incident at 903 Embreeville Road, Lot No. 1, where a male and a female victim said he arrived at the residence to take back his coffee maker.
The female victim told Simikic to stay on the porch and not to come inside, but said he entered and allegedly began picking up coffee creamer and things not belonging to him, the report said.
Police said the male victim said an argument began and Simikic pushed the female victim. The male victim became involved in the argument and Simikic hit him with the coffee pot.
Police said when they arrived, the male victim said he had a piece of glass in his neck and that his glasses were broken during the fight.
Simikic was located and arrested by police at Value Place motel, 135 Pinnacle Drive, and told police he did not assault the victims. Police said he had two cuts on his legs and told police they were dog bites from the male victim’s dogs. He complained of his legs hurting and was taken to the Franklin Woods Community Hospital’s emergency room to receive treatment for his injuries.
According to the release, Simikic was taken back to the Washington County Detention Center and told police the argument was about drugs.
Simikic is being held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
