A Kingsport man was charged with criminal impersonation and unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon Tuesday after he was stopped by police in a Pizza Plus parking lot, police said.
According to police, Shawn H. Bradley, 40, 4197 Skyland Drive, was parked at the restaurant, at 4735 N. Roan St., in a blue truck with Virginia tags.
When police approached and asked for Bradley’s ID, he told police he did not have identification on him and could not remember his Social Security number.
Bradley told police he was Brandon McMillion, but the passenger in the truck told police he was actually Bradley, police said. The passenger said McMillion was Bradley’s brother-in-law.
Police said when Bradley’s wallet was searched, they found a debit card matching his name. Police also found a small metal box containing prescription pills in the vehicle and a six-inch knife in the driver’s side door.
Police ran Bradley’s name through the national crime computer and found he was wanted by Washington County, Va., for shoplifting, destruction of property and trespassing. Police also charged Bradley with simple possession of drugs.
Bradley was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and held on $7,000 bond on the charge of being a fugitive from justice for crime in another state, police said. His court date was scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m.
