Johnson City woman charged with aggravated assault after alleged incident with bat

A Hamilton Street woman was arrested Sunday after police found her boyfriend trying to prevent her from hitting him with a baseball bat, police said in a report.
Kathryn S. Christy, 33, 402 Hamilton St., Apt. 2, was charged with aggravated assault.
Police went to the apartment and saw victim Paul Kessler, 50, struggling with Christy with a wooden bat. Kessler was yelling at her saying he would not let him hit her with the bat, police said.
Christy ran into a back room when police knocked, but police ordered her out of the room and interviewed Kessler and Christy.
Police said Christy was angry because Kessler had not been home since Friday, and as they argued, she came at him with a bat. He grabbed it to keep her from hitting him.
Christy was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
