Police: Punch broke Johnson City man's cheekbone

Johnson City police arrested a West Walnut Street man Sunday on an accusation that he broke his boyfriend’s cheekbone during an argument.
Joshua L. Smith, 25, 3121 W. Walnut St., Lot 26, was charged with aggravated assault.
Police were called to Franklin Woods Community Hospital about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and spoke with victim Richard “Jamey” Larimer, 35, according to a report.
Larimer told police he and Smith had argued between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. over Larimer’s refusal to allow Smith to stay in his residence while he was out of town. After Larimer packed up Smith’s laptop and backpack, Smith struck him in the face.
Larimer later drove himself to Franklin Woods. Police spoke with a doctor, who reported that suffered a fractured left zygomatic arch in three places, which would require surgery.
Smith agreed to meet with police at the hospital and admitted to hitting Larimer’s face, telling police he had been heavily intoxicated and struck Larimer out of fear and anger, according to the report.
Smith was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
