Johnson City police arrested a Wilson Avenue man Sunday on charges that he kicked in the door of a Whitney Street residence and assaulted a man.
Roland S. White, 44, 412 Wilson Ave., was charged with aggravated burglary, simple assault and public intoxication.
About 10 p.m. Sunday, police went to 107 Whitney St. after a 911 dispatcher advised that White had forced his way into the residence, police said in a report.
Robert Davis, 61, told police his front door had been locked and White had kicked in the door before pushing him and head-butting him.
Witnesses told police the incident began when a woman ran up the residence saying that White and she needed help because someone was after them.
A witness told police she went outside to investigate and learned that a bounty hunter was outside, so she told the residents to lock the door and not get involved. A short time later, White came to the door, demanded to be let in and pounded on the door before kicking it in.
Once inside, he White assaulted Davis and told him he would "bash his skull in," witnesses told police.
Using a K9 police dog, police found White near the corner of Whitney and Hamilton streets and arrested him.
White was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $21,500 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
