Two injured in Elizabethton crash

ELIZABETHTON — Two people were taken to an area hospital Tuesday night following a three-car crash on Tenn. Highway 67 near Old Milligan Highway.
Elizabethton Police Department Officer Joseph Holsclaw said an unnamed driver of a Toyota pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 67 when he slammed into the rear-end of a Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Alan R. Zastudil, Johnson City. The Cavalier was then sent forward, striking the rear-end of a Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Heather Odom, Elizabethton.
Emergency personnel were in the process of extracating the driver of the truck when he lost consciousness, according to Holsclaw. The driver was immediately taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
Zastudil’s passenger, Tina DeLoach, Elizabethton, was also taken to JCMC for treatment.
Odom and her infant passenger were not injured and were able to leave the scene in their vehicle.
The investigation was ongoing.
