On Dec. 11, Electric 94.9 held its annual holiday concert, Electric 94.9’s Acoustic Christmas presented by Grindstaff Kia at Freedom Hall in Johnson City.
The sold-out show featured national pop artists The Fray, Colbie Caillat and others.
As part of the yearly concert, a donation of $12,000 was made to the Salvation Armies of the Tri-Cities.
Majors from the three Salvation Army locations in the Tri-Cities joined Electric 94.9’s Jinger and Izzy in the Morning and Ashley Grindstaff from Grindtaff Kia on stage for a special check presentation.
“Our team knew the need would be greater than ever this year for the Salvation Army,” said Jason Reed, Electric 94.9’s program director.
“Our hope is that they can use this to try and help make up for any short fall in toys and clothing this year. The Salvation Army majors and their volunteers are amazing at what they do. We are so blessed to have this opportunity.”
Electric 94.9 also conducted its first Toy Mountain toy drive to benefit the Salvation Army at local Walmart stores.
