Johnson City police arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly stole more than $1,000 from his place of work, according to a news release.
Charles Edward Lane, 34, 5102 Carters Valley Road, Church Hill, was charged with theft of property over $1,000 and burglary.
Police said Lane’s arrest resulted from an investigation into a report of $1,040 cash that was allegedly stolen from Fiber Innovation Technology, 398 Innovation Drive, where Lane was employed. He was identified on video surveillance that was taken Nov. 14 in a restricted area.
Lane was being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond pending an appearance in Sessions Court today.
