NASHVILLE — A Franklin woman allegedly tried to bribe a police officer Thursday when being taken to jail on a DUI charge that included rear ending another vehicle on Mack Hatcher and Murfreesboro Road.

Dana Rich, 40 of Franklin, is accused of becoming belligerent with officers and repeatedly offering to write the arresting officer a $1,000 check to let her go, according to the city’s police department. A passenger in the vehicle Rich allegedly hit was injured and later treated and released from a medical facility.

Rich faces multiple charges that include DUI and bribery of a public servant. She is free on a $9,500 bond and has a court date scheduled at 2 p.m. Dec. 22.
