December 13th, 2011 7:15 am by Staff Report

A Florida woman and her stepmother were arrested Monday on charges that they stole clothing and jewelry from a store in a Johnson City mall. The stepmother also faced a drug charge.
Erica Tiffany Johnson, 5500 Dundee Road, Winter Haven, Fla., and her stepmother, Rachael Mitchell, 683 Second St., Manchester, N.H., were each charged with felony shoplifting.
Mitchell also had a separate simple possession charge for having 19 Lortab pills without a proper prescription, police said.
The arrests resulted from an investigation at Sears in the Mall at Johnson City, 2011 N. Roan St., after employees watched Johnson and Mitchell conceal items for more than 1 1/2 hours, police said. The items included adult and children’s clothing, shoes and jewelry totaling $1,121.19.
Johnson and Mitchell were jailed in the Washington County Detention Center pending Sessions Court appearances today. Johnson's bond was $10,000. Mitchell's bond was $11,000.
