Student’s preliminary hearing reset for April 11

The preliminary hearing for a Science Hill High School senior charged with carrying a gun on school property was reset Tuesday after the teen’s attorney made the request.
General Sessions Judge Robert Lincoln reset the case until April 11 for Benjamin Nies-Eldridge. The 18-year-old was arrested Nov. 29 after school resource officers discovered a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his trench coat. Neis-Eldridge is free on an $11,000 bond.
