A Johnson City woman was arrested Wednesday on charges that she stole several clothing items from a local outdoors store earlier in the week and tried to return them for credit.
Kelly A. Story, 28, 1215 W. Main St., went to Mahoney's on Sunset Drive on Monday, put on several items of clothing and carried out other items without paying, police said in a news release.
Story came back into the store on Wednesday to return some of the merchandise for store credit, police said, and she was recognized by employees as being the shoplifter from Monday. She was detained until police arrived.
Story was charged with felony shoplifting over $500. She was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond pending arraignment in Sessions Court.
