The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence has named 28 organizations as 2011 Award winners. These organizations represent outstanding achievement in the following industry sectors: health care, manufacturing, service, education, government and nonprofit. TNCPE is the only state-wide quality program patterned on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the national standard for recognizing organizational excellence. The Baldrige Program was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1987.
The 2011 Achievement Award Winners in East Tennessee were: Mountain Home Health Care System in Mountain Home; and the Sullivan County Regional Health Department, Blountville.
2011 Commitment Award Winners were Lake Pointe Advertising and Awards, Blountville; and Roan Scholars Leadership Program, Johnson City.
