BRISTOL, Va. — The Vice Narcotics Division of the Bristol Virginia Police Department presented 102 cases before a grand jury Tuesday, with the panel indicting 39 people, according to a news release.
The indictments were a culmination of six months of investigation, police said.
Nearly all of the charges involved distribution of schedule II and III narcotics or conspiracy to distribute the drugs. Among some of the drugs listed in the indictments were Opana, Percocet and morphine, all of which are pain relievers, Suboxone, a drug used to treat opioid dependency, and methamphetamine.
The ages of those indicted ranged from as young as 22 to as old as 69.
