Police: Man hurled cinder block at car

November 19th, 2011 10:40 pm by Staff Reports

ELIZABETHTON — A county man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of throwing a cinder block through the rear window of the car in which his ex-girlfriend, Ashley Cann, was sitting.
Donovan Robert Turner, 29, 112 Grant Parlier Road, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and vandalism. Turner told deputies Larry Vaughn and Wayne Pritchard of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department that he had gotten into an argument with Cann.
When she got into her father’s car to leave, she said he threw something that struck the vehicle. She said Turner then threw a cinder block, which went through the rear window and almost struck her.
Pritchard said Turner did admit to throwing the cinder block, but he did not intend for it to enter the car.
Turner is scheduled to answer the charges in Sessions Court on Jan. 23.
