Police investigating W. Knoxville home invasion

KNOXVILLE — Burglars used a truck to haul off their booty after holding residents of a West Knoxville home at gunpoint, police said.

The victims called for help at 9:53 p.m. Wednesday and told police two men barged into the residence at 3135 Dewine Road, which is near Western Avenue, according to a report issued by Officer Ray Offenbacher.

Police did not specify how many people were in the residence at the time of the assault. The victims told police one of the two intruders was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
