Johnson City police: Man goes for handgun when warrant served

A Johnson City man allegedly went for a handgun when police served a warrant for his arrest on Monday.
James Mark Greene, 47, 116 Spring City Drive, No.44, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
In a news release, Johnson City police said Greene attempted to retrieve a handgun as officers served an unrelated warrant about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Greene was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center, where he was also was booked on a domestic assault charge. His bond was $11,000, and a Sessions Court appearance was set for Tuesday morning.
