ELIZABETHTON — A man and woman were indicted by a Carter County grand jury on charges they made numerous purchases of cold medicine containing psuedoephedrine during the past year. Psuedoephedrine is commonly used as an ingredient in making methamphetamine.
Darrell W. Nance, 47, and Manana Marie Nance, 33, both of 268 Fox Hollow Road, Bluff City, were arrested at their residence by Lt. Penny Cornett of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department.
Darrell Nance was charged with 11 counts of promotion to manufacture methamphetamine. His bond was set at $55,000. The charges stem from the purchases of cold medicine in Carter County pharmacies from Feb. 12, 2010, to July 16, 2011.
Manana Nance was charged with 21 counts of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture. Her bond was set at $105,000. The charges stem from the purchase of cold medicine in Carter County pharmacies from July 3, 2010 to July 10, 2010.
Both are scheduled to answer the charges during the next session of Criminal Court.
