KINGSPORT — The witness to a Kingsport murder was arrested Thursday in Bristol, Va., for allegedly removing crack cocaine and prescription medication from the scene of the August shooting.
Kingsport police report the items were discovered on Bredgette Shaw, 22, immediately following the Aug. 3 homicide on Dale Street, as detectives interviewed her at the police department. The delay in her arrest was due to investigators awaiting lab results which positively identified the drugs.
Police have now confirmed publicly that drugs and robbery were the motive behind the murder of Jarrett Hughes, 24, within his home. The two suspects who allegedly entered through a back door and shot Hughes in the chest have yet to be located and arrested.
