Blountville man indicted in knife threat, hammer assault

BLOUNTVILLE — A Blountville man who allegedly held a knife to a woman’s throat and attacked two men with a hammer then stole a car to make his getaway has been indicted on multiple charges.

A Sullivan County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Adam David Campbell, 32, 1648 Hatterdale Farm Road, Blountville, on three counts of aggravated assault and one count each of aggravated burglary, theft over $1,000 and theft $500 or less. The charges stem from an alleged May 19 incident in Kingsport.

According to court records, Campbell knocked a woman to the floor and put a knife to her throat as he accused her of stealing his money during a trip to the store, from which they had just returned.
