Woman charged with vandalizing vehicle

October 31st, 2011 9:52 pm by Staff Report

A Gray woman was arrested Monday for allegedly vandalizing a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a city grocery store, according to Johnson City police.
Verlyn Hazel Bailey, 64, 189 Boone Drive, Gray, was charged with vandalism over $1,000.
Bailey’s arrest stems from an investigation into the vandalism of a vehicle parked at Food Lion, 3120 Bristol Highway, which had been scratched with a sharp object along the entire length of the driver’s side.
Police said a note left by Bailey provided her name and phone number.
Bailey was being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond pending an appearance in Sessions Court today at 9 a.m.
