The Tennessee Chiropractic Association honored Dr. James Messimer of Bristol with the association’s highest recognition during the TCA Annual Convention & Expo in Murfreesboro where he was named the 2011 Convention Honoree. The award is given to a doctor who demonstrates a strong commitment to his or her profession, the TCA and the community.
A Palmer College of Chiropractic graduate, Messimer was first licensed as a chiropractor in Tennessee in 1977. From 1991 to 1992, he served as TCA president, working to ensure the voice of the profession was heard in Nashville by those on Capitol Hill. In addition to his efforts on the TCA Board of Directors, he was recognized as Chiropractor of the Year in 1992 for his outstanding representation of chiropractic through his work within his community and his profession.
He has served as mayor of Bristol and been a lieutenant with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department.
