BRISTOL, Va. — A man recently convicted of murder was accused Thursday of raping a fellow inmate at the Bristol Jail.
Oadis White, who was convicted earlier this year in the murder of a 22-year-old woman, was charged with forcible sodomy, Bristol police said in a news release.
The cellmate complained that on Oct. 13, White sexually assaulted him at the jail.
White was at the jail awaiting transfer to a state correctional facility on the murder conviction.
White was held without bond on the forcible sodomy charge and placed in an isolation cell. Arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 3.
He was sentenced to life in prison in July for the 2010 strangulation murder of Angela Statzer in a wooded area off East Valley Drive.
